Below formulas are only approximate numbers and are only meant to assist you in figuring your job. CABCO can not guarantee overage and or shortage.

If face of Block is 8x16= 1.125 pieces to a square foot (face)
If face of Block is 4x16= 2.25 pieces to a square foot (face)

Follow the steps below:

1. Take Square footage X 1.125 or 2.25 = number of whole block
2. Pillars = Height X 12 = Divided by 4 or 8 (size of Block) = Number of courses per Pillar.
3. Number of pillars needed = Length of wall divided by 10 or 12
4. Pillar to Pillar = 1 Panel
5. Half block needed = number of courses X number of Panels
6. Minus 1 whole block for every 2 half or for each pillar

_______ X ________ = ___________ X __________ = number of Whole block needed.
Length Width Total SQ Footage 1.125 or 2.25

Need to subtract 1 whole block for every 2 half and 1 whole block for every bond beam block needed.

On Job Grout Mix
Proportion by Volume: One part Portland cement to 2 ¼ to 3 Parts Sand and not more than 2 Parts Pea Gravel. Sufficient water added to produce consistency for pouring without segregation. This mix conforms to ASTM – C-476, with a minimum compressive strength of 2000 PSI in 28 days.
Mortar
Qty
40 8x8x16 per 78 lb bag of Mortar with 1/10 cyd. of sand (for a good Mason)
50 8x8x16 per 94 lb bag of Cement with 1/5 cyd. of sand (for a good Mason)

For every 10 bags of mortar you need 1 cubic yard of mortar sand
For every 5 bags of cement you need 1 cubic yard of mortar sand

If using lime with cement the ratio is approx 2 cement to 1 lime

To figure quantity of Bedding, or Concrete for footer
Length x Width in feet, multiply by depth to fill in inches and then divide by 12 = cubic feet. Then divide by 27 to get cubic yards.

_______ X ________ = ___________ X __________ / 12 = ________ / 27 = _________
Length Width Total SQ Footage inch of fill Cubic feet Cubic Cyds.

Paver Calculations

K- Pattern for 6x6 & 6x9 Cobble Pavers, uses 25% 6x6, 75% 6x9 by the piece-not square footage.

1 K pattern unit is 1 cobble of 6x6 + 3 cobbles of 6x9 = 198 square inches.
Sq inch to 1 square foot =144

Example
So if 1000sf = 1000 x 144=144000sq. inch/198 square inch=728 K units

Remember each K unit is one 6x6 & three 6x9. So 728 6x6 & 3 x728 = 2184 6x9’s are needed for 1000 square feet
